Help your business with a Webcast or Webinar

noun /ˈwebˌkast/

A webcast is a media presentation distributed over the Internet using streaming media technology to distribute a single content source to many simultaneous listeners/viewers. A webcast may either be distributed live or on demand and consist of audio and/or video.

Nuts and Bolts

At the event the camera and audio feeds are fed into our vision mixer in which we create the program output, this is then sent to an encoder which compresses the media down to a size and bitrate that your audience is able to receive. This enocded feed is then delivered to a content distribution network for delivery to your audience.

Streamcast and webcasting

Streamcast's principle staff have been involved in webcasting and streaming since 1999. During this time we have seen webcasting move from tiny postage stamp sized RealMedia video to today's fullscreen high definition Flash, Silverlight and Apple streaming.

Prior to your event, Streamcast will either create and host a custom webpage based on your brand guidelines or provide a embedded player for you to add to your existing site. We also work inconjuction with our clients to create pre event content such as test videos, instructions for users as well as setting up support channels for end users that may need assistance.

On the day of a live event we will setup and test the webcasting equipment, our custom webcasting CMS will automatically switch to live mode 10 to 30 minutes before the event is scheduled to start allowing your viewers to complete registration and be ready to watch before the program begins. During the event our onsite producer / engineer will be full focused on your event switching cameras, inserting graphics and synchronisng slides whilst our office based staff will be monitoring the network and dealing with any support requests.

After the event our webcast engineer will prepare the archive of your event for on demand viewing. This can be delivered from 2 to 12 hours after the conclussion of the event.

Streamcast's custom built Flash based player offers high quality audio and video, synchronised slides, interactive slide index, captioning and fullscreen function.
